Refugee Services Aotearoa-New Zealand supports refugees to settle in New Zealand. Staff and teams of volunteers assist refugees when the first arrive to set up life here.

Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars hit the charts in 2006 with their debut album, Living like a refugee. This powerful group of West African musicians was formed in a refugee camp during the Sierra Leone civil war, and are the stars of a documentary well worth seeing.
Radio New Zealand's Nine to Noon interviewer Kathryn Ryan talks to rapper Emmanuel Jal, once a boy soldier in Sudan now living in England. He campaigns to raise awareness of the war in Sudan and the plight of refugees.
